SKIMS, the renowned shapewear and lifestyle brand, opened its first west coast brick-and-mortar on the iconic Sunset Strip. Known for its sleek, minimalist aesthetic, the store reflects the brand’s commitment to elevated design and customer experience. Henderson Engineers played a key role in bringing this vision to life, delivering seamless integration of building systems that support the architectural design. Our engineering solutions ensured that the store’s clean lines and curated ambiance remained front and center.

Lighting was a critical element in shaping the customer’s experience. We collaborated closely with the lighting designer to develop a Title 24-compliant façade that met California’s stringent energy code requirements. Given the limitations on allowable façade lighting, our team worked creatively with the design team to maximize code allowances while achieving the desired visual impact and immersive store experience. To further enhance the sensory environment, we integrated a custom scent delivery system into the mechanical ductwork. Drawing on our experience with similar systems in previous programs, we were able to specify and implement a solution that was both effective and unobtrusive — adding a subtle yet memorable layer to the in-store atmosphere.
