ONT Field

ONT Field is a new Minor League Baseball stadium that serves as the home of the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Single-A affiliate and a cornerstone of the 190-acre Ontario Sports Empire development in Southern California. Designed as a premier sports and entertainment destination, the approximately 6,000-seat venue delivers a first-class fan experience while supporting year-round community engagement through flexible amenities and multipurpose event spaces.

The project was created to meet the operational demands of professional baseball while extending its value beyond game days. Premium suites, club seating areas, and grass berm seating provide fans with a variety of viewing experiences, while a food hall, splash pad, and outdoor gathering spaces support concerts, festivals, and community events throughout the year. This flexibility allows the venue to remain active well beyond the baseball season and reinforces its role as a destination for both residents and visitors.

Henderson Engineers provided acoustics, architectural lighting, audio-video, broadcast services, electrical, energy modeling, fire and life safety, mechanical, plumbing, security, and telecommunications engineering for the project. The team worked closely with the owner, design team, and construction partners to deliver integrated building systems that support both professional sports operations and an enhanced fan experience.

The project followed an accelerated schedule tied to the inaugural season of the Dodgers’ new Single-A affiliate. We maintained consistent communication throughout design and construction, providing rapid responses to field questions and coordinating closely with project stakeholders to resolve technical challenges. This collaborative approach helped maintain project momentum and support critical milestones leading up to opening day.

Technology and fan engagement were key drivers throughout the design process. Henderson engineered the infrastructure required to support MiLB broadcast and replay standards, as well as IPTV and digital signage systems throughout the facility. Large-format audiovisual displays and venue-wide sound systems help create an immersive atmosphere on game days while supporting concerts, festivals, and special events. Architectural lighting enhances the guest experience by activating club spaces, exterior plazas, and the stadium façade, creating a vibrant environment before, during, and after events.

The stadium’s design also reflects the character of the surrounding community. Aviation-inspired elements throughout the venue acknowledge Ontario’s connection to aviation and nearby airport operations, helping create a unique identity for the ballpark. A multi-level parking structure with approximately 1,000 stalls supports visitor access, while a solar photovoltaic canopy installed above the structure contributes renewable energy and advances the project's sustainability goals.

Today, ONT Field serves as both a professional sports venue and a community gathering place. The project demonstrates how integrated stadium engineering can support operational excellence, elevate the fan experience, and create a flexible entertainment destination that delivers value long after the final inning.
